All Band and Junior High Choir members in 6-8th grade. The District Honors Band audition will be coming up this October 11, on Columbus Day in Bloomington. If you are interested in trying out for the Honors Band or Choir please come see me ASAP!!! I need turn turn in your names and registration by September 28 and I need to give you a copy of the music to begin working on for the auditions.
Should you be chosen for the honors band or choir the District Concert Festival will be at Illinois State University on November 20, 2010 (that's Confirmation for our 8th graders so there won't be an option for them to try out).
I hope that a lot of the 6th and 7th graders think about it. We've had several students make it to District Honor band in the past and it has been a great experience for them!

The Raider Choir will be singing at the Father's Mass on Friday September 3, 2010. Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. in my classroom to do a quick run through before we go over to sing with Mrs. Oakley in the choir loft. Thanks a bunch!

Welcome back to the new year! Registration for Choir and Band will be on fee day again this year. Be sure to stop by and register. You will also be able to pay the $100 fee to the school to me at the table and I will turn it in to the office. The 4th-8th grade band member swill be performing for the school at an assembly on May 21, at 1:30 p.m. if you would like to come out and see them. We will be doing some movie titles and pop numbers. The choir will also be doing several songs as well. It should be a fun time for them to show the rest of the school what they have been working on throughout the year.

I have sent home the time information for the solo and ensemble contest this weekend. Please! Check your students times and the following message that I included. Be there 30 minutes before time to make sure that your students has adequate time to warm-up and go over their piece. I will meet you at their performance room. The Band and Choir Concert is this weekend , Sunday December 6. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. Students should plan on arriving at 2:30 p.m. to begin putting their instruments together. All cases should be left in the MP room during the performance. Students should wait in their seats until the performance with their instruments. Dress is nice sunday clothes - no jeans. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
